GEM Systems UAV Gradiometer: The AirGRAD

GEM Systems UAV AirGRAD
The GEM Systems AirGRAD is the first UAV Vertical Gradiometer in the world. Weighing less than 6 kg, it provides a versatile solution for UAVs or small manned helicopters flying mag surveys.
The system includes: two (2) GSMP 35U high precision and sensitivity Potassium UAV magnetometers, a laser altimeter to record bird height above ground, a GPS for location tracking, an IMU for tracking yaw, pitch and roll, a radio link for real-time monitoring and transmission of the data to a ground station with proprietary Airborne logger, a li-po battery to run the complete system for 60 min, and a light weight tow cable.
The UAV AirGRAD is configured as a vertical gradiometer with 1.5 m sensor separation. At 4 meters length, the signal measured by the gradiometer has maximal sensitivity. The result is a very clean and clear reading of the magnetic anomalies in the subsurface. A coupler section will enable you to shorten the length of the AirGRAD to reduce weight even further.
Assembly and disassembly is very straight forward, and the AirGRAD is packaged neatly into our new ATA Heavy Duty Roto-Molded Utility Case for easy and safe shipping.
